The critically acclaimed stage production of Disney’s beloved movie Mary Poppins is now playing in London until 8 January 2023.
With stunning choreography, magical effects, and unforgettable music, the wonderful tale of the world’s favourite Nanny landing on Cherry Tree Lane is spectacularly brought to the stage of the Prince Edward Theatre on Old Compton Street in London.
The Oscar-winning author and “Downton Abbey” creator Julian Fellowes’ book, Richard Eyre’s directing, Matthew Bourne’s co-direction and choreography, Stephen Mear’s co-choreography, and Bob Crowley’s design make up the award-winning creative team that brings Mary Poppins to life.
Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman composed the enchanting score for this timeless musical, which features the songs Jolly Holiday, Step in Time, Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, and Feed the Birds. George Stiles and Anthony Drewe, who won the Olivier Award for best British songwriting, contributed new songs as well as additional music and lyrics.
Note: Charlie Stemp is currently appearing in Crazy For You, so Louis Grant is performing the role of Bert.
