A grassroots Ukrainian organisation called Queer Svit (Queer World in Ukrainian), which is helping LGBTQ+ people and people of colour whose lives have been affected by the war in Ukraine including those facing political persecution in Russia and Belarus, is hosting an event on Friday 16 September 2022.
The event, discussing the impact that the war has had on LGBTQ+ people, will feature Pussy Riot member Olga Borisova, activist and model Rain Dove, a Ukrainian queer refugee, Anna-Maria Tesfaye, Co-Founder of Queer Svit, and Pavel Borisov, ‘Dossier’ center journalist. The talk is hosted by Ella Rossman, feminist activist and gender historian from UCL.
