The UK premiere of US playwright Robert O’Hara’s acclaimed play Bootycandy is now playing at the Gate Theatre in Camden.
The production has enjoyed some fabulous reviews, with The Stage and The Telegraph both giving the show ★★★★★.
The play is billed as a semi-autobiographical, kaleidoscopic, Black queer fever dream of connected vignettes, that explores childhood, sexuality, fantasy and reality.
The director is Tristan Fynn-Aiduenu – who scored a mega-hit for his play For Black Boys Who Considered Suicide When The Hue Gets Too Heavy – so much so that it’s on its way to the West End in March.
Bootycandy is playing at the Gate Theatre from 13 February to 11 March 2023.
