The V&A in South Kensington is hosting major new exhibition DIVA, celebrating the power and creativity of iconic performers.
The big-budget show explores and redefines the role of ‘diva’ and how the concept of divas has been subverted or embraced over time across opera, stage, popular music, and film.

This impressive – and huge – exhibition has everything DIVA, with costumes, sketches, paintings, artwork, sculpture, furniture, personal objects, letters, diaries, and more, covering every Diva imaginable, from Maria Callas and Billie Holiday, to Maria Carey, Madonna, Cher, Tina Turner, Lizzo, Elton John, Diana Ross and more!
More than 60 looks are on display, some being made public for the very first time. Highlights include iconic costumes created by Bob Mackie for Tina Turner and Pink, Elton John’s famous, fabulous 50th birthday costume by Sandy Powell, the fringed black dress worn by Marilyn Monroe in Some Like It Hot, and Shirley Bassey’s pink Julien MacDonald gown.
So channel your own Diva and get down to the V&A before 7 April 2024.
