Another Country returns to London stage

A new production of Julian Mitchell’s gay classic Another Country is returning to London.

The play was turned into a movie starring Rupert Everett and Colin Firth and has become a gay classic for its career-defining performance by Everett as a gay public school boy in love with the blond and gorgeous Harcourt (played in the movie by Cary Elwes).

Playing at the Trafalgar Studios from 26 March to 21 June 2014, this revival was first staged out of London and got great reviews, before being picked to head into town.

Another Country is directed by Jeremy Herrin – who has scored a hit in Stratford this year with the stage adaptation of Hilary Mantel’s Wolf Hall and Bring Up the Bodies (also coming to London soon).

Julian Mitchell’s award-winning play about a group of public schoolboys in 1930′s England dramatises the youth of infamous British gay spies such as Guy Burgess.

A talented young cast includes Will Attenborough (grandson of Sir Richard Attenborough) as Judd, Rob Callender as Bennett, plus Julian Wadham, Dario Coates, Cai Birdgen, Bill Milner, James Parris, Mark Donald and Mark Quartley.
