Broadway musical Memphis opens at London’s Shaftesbury Theatre starring Beverly Knight.
The multi-Tony award winning Broadway show MEMPHIS comes to London this year in a major new production at the Shaftesbury Theatre.
One of the UK’s biggest Soul music artists, Beverly Knight, follows her triumphant performance in The Bodyguard with a starring role in Memphis playing club singer Felicia Farrell, alongside Killian Donnelly as radio DJ Huey Calhoun.
This sizzling hot show is set in 1950’s Memphis, Tennessee and inspired by the real events surrounding the underground dance clubs of 1950’s Memphis,. The show follows the fame and forbidden love of a white radio DJ and a black club singer.
Memphis features a book by Joe DiPietro and a Grammy Award-winning original score by Bon Jovi founder David Bryan, and is directed by Christopher Ashley.
With explosive dancing and fabulous songs Memphis is the hottest show to land in the West End this year.
