Visit the Tower of London, one of the world’s most extraordinary and historic landmarks
London’s most iconic historic building is nearly 1,000 years old and the oldest palace, fortress and prison in Europe.
Steeped in history, the Tower of London is home to the Crown Jewels and
Sites within the Tower complex include the White Tower, a World Heritage Site, Tower Green – the site of many executions, plus the Crown Jewels, which are the greatest working collection of royal jewels in the world and priceless in value.
The Imperial State Crown alone is made of 2,868 diamonds, 273 pearls, 17 sapphires, 11 emeralds and 5 rubies.
Free tours are available with a Yeoman Warder of the Tower (also called Beefeaters) to explore the fascinating history of this royal building.
