Fast and furious, Great Britain is the hilarious new satire that is a riot of razor-sharp wit.
Following a sell-out run at the National Theatre, biting new comedy Great Britain transfers into the West End’s Theatre Royal Haymarket.
Richard Bean follows his West End and Broadway smash-hit comedy One Man, Two Guvnors with this anarchic, foul-mouthed satire set at one of Britain’s tabloid newspapers.
The play centres on Paige Britain, a ruthlessly ambitious newspaper editor who uses every trick within her power – including phone hacking – to get the story.
Her rise to the top sees her blackmail some of the most senior men in the British Establishment, including policemen and politicians, and no-one is spared in Bean’s extraordinary and ambitious comedy about press corruption and contemporary media and society.
The play is directed by Olivier and Tony Award-winning director Nicholas Hytner and stars Lucy Punch (Bad Teacher, Hot Fuzz) and Robert Glenister (Life on Mars).
