Dear Evan Hansen won six Tony Awards on Broadway, and a further three Olivier Awards here. Cameron Mackintosh himself brought it over from the US, and this West End production is simply amazing.

Whilst we are talking awards – the songwriters of the show – Benj Pasek and Justin Paul – have won multiple Tonys and Oscars for their previous projects – The Greatest Showman and La La Land, so kind of know what they are doing.

The show is directed by four-time Tony Award nominee Michael Greif with book by Tony award winner Steven Levenson.

Olivier Award winner Sam Tutty stars as Evan Hansen, a part originally played on Broadway by The Politician’s Ben Platt. The show also stars  Lucy Anderson as Zoe Murphy, Doug Colling as Connor Murphy and Marcus Harman plays Evan Hansen at certain performances.

It’s a show that takes your breath away, and Sam Tutty is a revelation in the leading role. A must see!
