Venue: The Two Brewers

London drag performer Topsie Redfern brings Topsie Redfern’s Crystal Balls to the Two Brewers this July.
Written by Topsie’s creator Nathan Kiley and also written and directed by Sarah Crew, the show is a fusion of cabaret and theatre where Nathan seeks to crack the codes of his own Traveller and LGBT history.
Nathan’s Great Grandma was Alan Turing’s fortune teller. Now as a drag queen turning 40, he’s giving a lot of thought to his roots. Grey roots, musical roots, and cultural roots: particularly his Irish Traveller heritage. Nathan’s Great Grandmother ran away from her own bourgeois roots, married a Traveller, and became a famous fortune teller, Madame Olga, whose clients included Nancy Astor, and Alan Turing: the man who cracked the Enigma Code.
