Cabaret at the Playhouse Theatre

Cabaret at the Playhouse Theatre
Monday 15 November 2021 to Saturday 16 April 2022
Venue: Playhouse Theatre

One of the most exciting theatrical openings of the year (okay, apart from Moulin Rouge!) has to be this brand new revival of Cabaret.

Liza immortalised the movie version, but John Kander and Fred Ebb’s original stage version is the real deal, and director Rebecca Frecknall has created an extraordinary world at the Playhouse Theatre.

The hugely talented cast includes Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne as ‘The Emcee’, British Independent Film award winner Jessie Buckley as ‘Sally Bowles’, and star of Channel 4’s “It’s a Sin” Omari Douglas as ‘Cliff Bradshaw.

The show also starsLiza Sadovy as ‘Fraulein Schneider’, Elliot Levey as ‘Herr Schultz’, Stewart Clarke as ‘Ernst Ludwig’ and Anna-Jane Casey as ‘Fraulein Kost’; plus Josh Andrews, Emily Benjamin, Sally Frith, Matthew Gent, Emma Louise Jones, Ela Lisondra, Theo Maddix, Chris O’Mara, Daniel Perry, Andre Refig, Christopher Tendai, Bethany Terry, Lillie-Pearl Wildman and Sophie Maria Wojna.

Cabaret is infused with a gay sensibility, from the Emcee, to Cliff’s sexuality, the gay men who wrote it, and the gay man (Christopher Isherwood) whose story it is based on.

Cabaret is booking until 16 April 2022 at the Kit Kat Club (Playhouse Theatre), London.
