One of the most exciting West End theatrical openings of the decade (okay, apart from Moulin Rouge!) is the award-winning revival of Cabaret.
Liza immortalised the movie version, but John Kander and Fred Ebb’s original stage version is the real deal, and director Rebecca Frecknall has created an extraordinary world at the Kit Kat Club.
Cabaret is infused with a gay sensibility, from the Emcee, to Cliff’s sexuality, the gay men who wrote it, and the gay man (Christopher Isherwood) whose story it is based on.
The show stars Rebecca Lucy Taylor AKA Self Esteem as Sally Bowles and Jake Shears (Scissor Sisters) as The Emcee from 25 September 2023 to 20 January 2024.
Cabaret is now booking at the Kit Kat Club (Playhouse Theatre), London.
