Join special guest Jenna Russell for this celebration of all things Sondheim by the London Gay Men’s Chorus.
Running at Cadogan Hall on 29 and 30 April 2022, the Chorus will showcase songs from Sondheim’s best-known Broadway shows such as Follies, Company and West Side Story, alongside musicals such as Anyone Can Whistle, Passion and Evening Primrose.
Stephen Sondheim was a titan of musical theatre. Many of Broadway’s best known and popular songs are a result of his creative output and this show is a timely celebration of his work across the decades. Thought-provoking yet entertaining, his genius was both as a composer and lyricist, using both these talents to leave a legacy of remarkable variety, recognised by critics, performers and theatre-goers in equal measure.
Joining the Chorus as special guest for these shows will be West End and Broadway star Jenna Russell. The award-winning actress and singer is no stranger to Sondheim or the stages of the theatres where his work is performed, and the Chorus is very excited to be singing with her.
Jenna won the Olivier Award for ‘Best Actress in a Musical’ for her role of Dot in Sunday In The Park With George at Wyndham’s Theatre, and has multiple Tony and Olivier Award nominations including for her role in the 2006 London run of Guys and Dolls.
